This looks like a great project! I have been trying to install the PHP distribution on a windows vista computer and I get a lot of Java errors in the log file of unfound packages. Is there a vista version or something that I can do to make it work?

The .log file contains:

Could you try to install somewhere else than c:\program files ?
This is known issue for Eclipse on vista when installed there.
(and for many other apps)

I’m trying to install on Vista, but it won´t run and the log is full of Java errors for me as well. I’m alsowondering what I can do about it. Seems strange that a java up wouldn´t run on vista.

Where did you install it? Which directory/folder?

In it’s default directory - I didn´t change any settings during installation. Don´t think I was asked.
The directory is C:\Program Files\EasyEclipse for PHP 1.2.1.1
my error log is identical to that of Wade Arnold above, but with a different timestamp.

On VISTA, DO NOT install EasyEclipse under C:\Program Files\…. (which is the default offered). Microsotft made it so that it is almost impossible to run programs from there.
Amd this is aq know issue with Eclipse.
Install it anywhere but NOT under Program Files

Thank you Philippe! I tried installing under C:\XP Program Files\… instead - it worked right away! That was easy. But I guess anything is, when you know how… Thanks again!

Glad it worked. Vista is a tad weird for that.

Seems to work to run it as administrator when installed in program files on vista.

Please give the warning about Vista right below the download icon in big type! It will save people half an hour at least.

I agree with Michael, The installation instructions and even the installer should be updated to handle Vista.

We’ll put the warning in the next drop. The only thing is that we have no Vista to test.
