PMD Eclipse Lite integrates PMD with Eclipse and provides quickfixes for common problems. PMD scans Java source code and looks for potential problems such as possible bugs, dead or duplicate code, suboptimal or overcomplicated expression.

Installing this plugin

This plugin is not shipped in any distribution. You must manually install it on an EasyEclipse distribution.

The dependent plugin Eclipse Java Development Tools must be present in the EasyEclipse distribution you use, or must be installed separately.

Getting started

Help is available for this plugin, in the Help > Help Contents menu in EasyEclipse.

To start using PMD code checker in your project, toggle the PMD nature by right-clicking on the project and select PMD > Toggle PMD nature. The project will then be check when built. PMD violations will appear in the Problems view, if PMD problems category is selected in the Problems filter dialog (upper right of the Problems view).
