Installing this plugin
This plugin is in the EasyEclipse Server Java distribution.
If you install this plugin on another EasyEclipse distribution, the dependent plugins Eclipse Web tools editors, Eclipse J2EE tools, Eclipse Database tools and Eclipse Java Development Tools must be present in the EasyEclipse distribution, or must be installed separately.
Getting started
Help is available for this plugin, in the Help > Help Contents menu in EasyEclipse.
The help contains a very complete tutorial (JBoss Eclipse IDE Tutorial).
However, the help refers to the previous version: this new version does not use launch configurations. Instead, open the JBoss Server view to manage servers, and right-click on a packaged war, jar or ear to deploy and run an application on a server.
Tests
(Notes that tests are only displayed if the page is served statically)- Passing:
Go through the built-in tutorial. Start with downloading JBoss AS 4.0.x Then switch to the JBOss AS perspective. Create a new J2EE 1.4 Project: Select File > New > Project... and choose JBoss-IDE > J2EE Projects > J2EE 1.4 Project In the project, create a new Java source folder. Then, Create a new Session EJB. Select File > New > Other... and choose JBoss-IDE > EJB Components > Session Bean. Follow the steps in the help section "The EJB" and "Generation of the EJB". (NB: while the generated artifacts should compile correctly, an src/META-INF/jaws.xml is created that has errors. Copy the content of the enterprise-beans elemnt from the jboss.xml file to this file ) Follow the steps in "The Servlet and the Web-App", "Generation of the Servlet related files " , "The J2EE Application ", "The Packaging". Do not run "JBoss Configuration and Launch" on that version (2beta2) it is outdated. Instead, make sure you have unzipped Jboos, and open the Jboss server view. Right click in the view and new/server. The select JBoss Inc/Jboss AS 4.2 Name it jboss-test, select the Home dir where you unzippped jboss. Select the default configuration, then next (possibly selecting jboss-test again) Then finish (do not assign the application to the server yet). Then select the generated EAR FiboApp.ear file, right click and select run on server. Select the server profile just created. Press finish Open a web browesr, and point to http://localhost:8080/fibo/ Compute some results.
