Installing this plugin
This plugin is not shipped in any distribution. You must manually install it on an EasyEclipse distribution. No other installation will be needed, because this plugin has no dependencies.
Getting started
Help is available for this plugin, in the Help > Help Contents menu in EasyEclipse.
To use Graysky Logwatcher, you must open the LogWatcher view by selecting Window > Show View > Other..., then Log Files > LogWatcher. Then add files to watch by clicking the Create a new Watcher button on the upper right of the view. You can then select the file to watch, and add filters with actions to take when a certain string appears in the log.
Tests
(Notes that tests are only displayed if the page is served statically)- Passing:
- install tomcat - start tomcat, stop it (just to create a log file) - open LogWatcher view ("Window > Show View > Other...", then "Log Files > LogWatcher") - push ?? button - in "Select file to watch", select the file <your-tomcat-install>/logs/catalina.out - click "New Filter", Where Text contains "Exception", take this action "Highlight", Next, Finish - You should view something - start Tomcat server - content should change - start Tomcat server again - content should change, some lines should be red (BindException)
